About this exercise

The cable kneeling triceps extension is an overhead triceps movement performed while kneeling with your back to a high cable pulley. Kneeling stabilizes the lower body and allows you to focus on full elbow extension, effectively targeting all three heads of the triceps.

How to Perform

  • Attach a rope handle to a high cable pulley and select your weight
  • Kneel facing away from the cable machine and grasp the rope behind your head with both hands
  • Position your upper arms close to your head with elbows pointing forward
  • Brace your core and extend your elbows to push the rope forward and slightly downward
  • Hold the fully extended position briefly, then slowly return to the starting position
