About this exercise

A cable isolation exercise for the triceps performed with the pulley set at a high position and the arms raised overhead. This angle places the long head of the triceps under a full stretch, maximizing muscle activation throughout the range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Attach a rope handle to the high pulley of a cable machine
  • Stand facing away from the machine and grip the rope with both hands behind your head, palms facing each other
  • Step forward slightly and lean your torso forward for stability
  • Keep your upper arms close to your head with elbows pointing forward
  • Extend your forearms forward until your arms are fully straight
  • Pause briefly at full extension, squeezing your triceps
  • Slowly return to the start, allowing a full stretch in the triceps
