About this exercise

The Cable Front Seated Row is a compound pulling exercise performed on a seated cable row machine. You row a bar or handle horizontally toward your lower chest, emphasising the middle back, lats, and rear delts while the biceps assist.

How to Perform

  • Sit at a cable seated row machine and place your feet flat on the footrests
  • Grip the handle with both hands using a shoulder-width overhand or neutral grip
  • Sit tall with your chest up, shoulders back, and a slight bend in your knees
  • Inhale, brace your core, and pull the handle toward your lower chest/upper abdomen
  • Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the end of the pull
  • Slowly extend your arms back to the starting position under control
  • Repeat for the target number of reps
