About this exercise

A standing cable biceps curl using a V-shaped bar attached to the low pulley. The V-bar grip promotes a neutral-to-supinated forearm position that heavily engages the brachialis and brachioradialis alongside the biceps for complete arm development.

How to Perform

  • Attach a V-bar handle to the low pulley of a cable machine
  • Stand facing the machine and grip the handle with both hands, palms facing each other or slightly upward
  • Stand upright with elbows tucked at your sides
  • Curl the bar upward by flexing your elbows until your forearms are vertical
  • Hold the peak contraction briefly
  • Lower the bar slowly back to the starting position under control
