About this exercise

A cardiovascular exercise performed at a pace faster than casual walking but slower than jogging. Brisk walking improves heart health, burns calories, and is easy on the joints, making it suitable for all fitness levels.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with your head up and shoulders relaxed and back
  • Begin walking at a pace that raises your heart rate — aim for around 5–6 km/h or a pace where you can still talk but feel slightly breathless
  • Swing your arms naturally with each stride, bending them at about 90 degrees for added momentum
  • Land on your heel and roll through to push off with your toes
  • Keep your core lightly braced and maintain an upright posture throughout
  • Maintain a consistent pace for the desired duration or distance

About the Fast Walking

The Fast Walking is a foundational movement that builds strength and muscle through controlled, progressive overload. Train it 1 to 2 times per week with 3 to 5 working sets per session, gradually adding weight or reps as form holds up.
