About this exercise

A full-body exercise performed in a high bridge (reverse tabletop) position with the hips lifted, chest open and head relaxed back. From this position you walk with small steps of the hands and feet, strengthening the glutes, hamstrings and shoulders while opening the chest and the front of the hips.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the floor with your hands behind you, fingers pointing away, and feet flat
  • Press through your hands and heels to lift your hips until your torso is roughly parallel to the floor
  • Let your head relax back and keep your hips high
  • Walk with small alternating steps of your hands and feet
  • Keep your glutes squeezed and hips lifted the entire time

About the Bridge Walk

The Bridge Walk is a foundational movement that builds strength and muscle through controlled, progressive overload. Train it 1 to 2 times per week with 3 to 5 working sets per session, gradually adding weight or reps as form holds up.
