About this exercise

A unilateral landing drill where you step off a box and absorb the impact on one foot, developing single-leg deceleration strength, balance, and landing stability.

How to Perform

  • Stand on top of a box or step with feet together
  • Step off the edge and drop toward the floor
  • Land on one foot with a soft knee and controlled hip hinge, absorbing the impact
  • Keep the landing knee aligned over your toes and your torso upright
  • Hold the landing position momentarily to ensure full stability
  • Avoid letting the knee cave inward on landing
  • Complete all reps on one leg, then switch sides
