About this exercise

A lateral raise performed with water bottles or similar household containers as improvised weights, making it an accessible home-training alternative to dumbbell lateral raises. It isolates the medial (side) deltoid to build shoulder width without gym equipment.

How to Perform

  • Slightly bend the elbows and keep them soft throughout the movement
  • Raise both arms out to the sides in a wide arc until they reach shoulder height
  • Pause briefly at the top, feeling the contraction in the side delts
  • Lower the bottles back to your sides in a slow, controlled manner
