About this exercise

The Bosu Ball Step-Up with High Knee is a dynamic lower-body and balance exercise that combines a step-up onto the unstable surface of a Bosu ball with an explosive high knee drive. The instability challenges the leg muscles and core while improving coordination and proprioception.

How to Perform

  • Stand facing the flat side of a Bosu ball (dome side up) placed on the floor
  • Step one foot onto the center of the dome and press through that heel to stand up onto the Bosu ball
  • As you reach full extension of the standing leg, drive the opposite knee up toward your chest
  • Control your balance at the top for a brief moment
  • Lower the raised leg back to the floor, then step the lead foot off the Bosu ball
  • Repeat leading with the same leg for all reps, then switch sides
