About this exercise

A bodyweight balance exercise performed on a BOSU ball that isolates the posterior chain of one leg by combining the hip hinge pattern of a good morning with single-leg balance on an unstable surface. The movement demands strong hamstring flexibility, glute control, and core stability.

How to Perform

  • Place a BOSU ball flat side down and stand on the dome with one foot, keeping a slight bend in the knee
  • Hold the other foot just off the dome or extend it slightly behind you for balance
  • With hands placed behind your head or extended forward, hinge at the hip and lower your torso forward
  • Keep your back flat and the standing knee soft as you lower until you feel a hamstring stretch
  • Drive through the standing heel and squeeze the glute to return to an upright position
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching legs
