About this exercise

The BOSU Ball Push-Up is an upper-body exercise performed with both hands gripping the flat platform of a BOSU ball, adding instability that recruits more stabilizing muscles in the chest, shoulders, and core compared to a standard push-up.

How to Perform

  • Place the BOSU ball flat side up on the floor
  • Grip the edges of the flat platform and assume a push-up position with your body forming a straight line from head to heels
  • Brace your core to keep your hips from sagging or piking
  • Bend your elbows and lower your chest toward the platform, keeping your elbows at roughly 45 degrees from your torso
  • Push back up to full arm extension
  • Maintain a rigid body position throughout to maximise the stability challenge
