About this exercise

A challenging bodyweight triceps exercise performed from a high plank position, where you lower your forearms to the floor by bending your elbows and then extend back up using triceps strength alone. The movement resembles a bodyweight skull crusher and requires a rigid core to prevent hip sag throughout.

How to Perform

  • Begin in a high plank position with hands directly under your shoulders and body forming a straight line
  • Brace your core and squeeze your glutes to keep your hips level
  • Bend your elbows and lower your forearms toward the floor, keeping them close to your body
  • Allow your body to shift slightly forward as your forearms contact the ground
  • Press back up by extending your elbows, returning to the high plank position
  • Keep your hips still and avoid letting your lower back sag throughout the movement
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps
