About this exercise

A bodyweight chest exercise performed standing, using straight arms in a fly-like arc to activate the pectoral muscles through adduction against gravity or a fixed surface. It requires no equipment and is useful as a warm-up, activation drill, or low-intensity chest movement.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and lean slightly forward, engaging your core
  • Extend your arms out to the sides at chest height with palms facing forward or slightly downward
  • Keeping your elbows straight, sweep both arms inward in a wide arc until your hands meet in front of your chest
  • Squeeze the chest muscles at the peak contraction for one second
  • Slowly reverse the movement and return your arms to the starting wide position
  • Control the motion throughout and avoid bending the elbows during the fly
