About this exercise

A wall-supported shoulder mobility drill where the arm is guided through a full circular arc — front, overhead, to the side, and back down — to improve shoulder range of motion and joint health. The wall provides tactile feedback and prevents compensatory movements.

How to Perform

  • Stand sideways next to a wall with the working arm closest to the wall
  • Place your fingertips lightly on the wall at shoulder height for balance
  • Keep your core braced, back straight, and the supporting arm relaxed
  • Raise your working arm forward and sweep it in a large slow circle — up overhead, out to the side, and back down
  • Move deliberately and within a pain-free range of motion
  • Complete the desired repetitions, then reverse the direction of the circle
  • Switch to the other arm and repeat
