About this exercise

A challenging bodyweight sequence combining a squat with both a lateral and a forward leg raise at the top, developing lower-body strength, hip stability, and balance simultaneously. The dual leg-raise portion adds extra demand on the glutes and hip abductors.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and arms extended forward for balance
  • Lower into a squat, pushing your hips back and keeping your chest up
  • Drive through your heels to return to standing
  • At the top, shift weight onto your left foot and raise your right leg out to the side
  • Without setting the foot down, swing the leg forward into a front raise at hip height
  • Lower the leg with control, then descend into the next squat
  • Repeat, raising the opposite leg on the next repetition
  • Continue alternating sides throughout the set
