About this exercise

A bodyweight biceps exercise performed lying on your side, where gravity provides the resistance as you curl your lower arm upward toward your shoulder. It allows isolated biceps training without any equipment and is especially useful for beginners or for adding volume at the end of a workout.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your side on a mat with your body in a straight line
  • Extend your lower arm out along the floor, palm facing upward toward the ceiling
  • Rest your upper hand on your hip or waist for stability
  • Curl your lower forearm upward toward your shoulder, squeezing your biceps at the top
  • Slowly lower your forearm back to the floor under control
  • Complete all reps on one side before rolling over to work the other arm
