About this exercise

A no-equipment horizontal pulling exercise performed using the frame of a doorway as an anchor point. Gripping both sides of the door frame, you lean back at an angle and row your chest toward it, effectively targeting the lats and biceps without a bar or machine.

How to Perform

  • Stand in a doorway and grip both sides of the frame at roughly chest height
  • Walk your feet forward until your body is at an angle and your arms are fully extended
  • Keep your body straight from head to heels and brace your core
  • Pull your chest toward the door frame by driving your elbows back and squeezing your shoulder blades together
  • Pause at the top when your chest nearly touches the frame
  • Slowly extend your arms to lower yourself back to the starting position
  • Adjust your foot position to make the movement harder or easier
