About this exercise

The bodyweight lying leg curl is a floor-based exercise that targets the hamstrings without any equipment by curling both heels toward the glutes while lying face down. It builds posterior chain strength and endurance through controlled repetitions.

How to Perform

  • Lie face down on the floor with your legs fully extended and your arms flat in front of you or at your sides
  • Flex your feet and engage your core to press your hips firmly into the ground
  • Curl both heels toward your glutes as far as possible by contracting your hamstrings
  • Pause briefly at the top with your hamstrings fully squeezed
  • Slowly lower your legs back to the starting position under control
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps
