About this exercise

A flowing bodyweight movement that transitions from a high plank into the Downward Dog yoga pose, simultaneously stretching the hamstrings and calves while building core and shoulder stability. It is an excellent mobility drill for warming up or cooling down.

How to Perform

  • Begin in a high plank position with hands directly under your shoulders and body forming a straight line
  • Keep your core braced and arms straight throughout the movement
  • Push through your palms, lift your hips up and back toward the ceiling
  • Straighten your legs to form an inverted V shape and press your heels toward the floor
  • Hold the Downward Dog position for a moment, feeling the stretch through the back of your legs
  • Lower your hips back down to the plank position in a controlled manner
  • Repeat the transition for the desired number of repetitions
