About this exercise

A bodyweight shoulder exercise performed in a bent-over position, mimicking the arc of a reverse fly using gravity and body angle as resistance. It directly targets the rear deltoids and upper back without any equipment, making it a practical activation or warm-up movement.

How to Perform

  • Hinge at the hips until your torso is roughly parallel to the floor, knees slightly bent and spine neutral
  • Let both arms hang straight down in front of you with palms facing each other
  • With elbows slightly soft, raise both arms out to the sides in a wide arc until they are level with your shoulders
  • Squeeze the rear deltoids at the top of the movement
  • Slowly lower your arms back to the hanging starting position under control
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps
