About this exercise

Bear Walk is a functional bodyweight exercise performed on all fours with knees hovering just above the floor. You walk forward by moving opposite hand and foot simultaneously, building total-body coordination, core stability, shoulder strength, and hip mobility.

How to Perform

  • Start on all fours with wrists under shoulders, knees under hips, and toes tucked
  • Lift your knees 1–2 inches off the floor and hold them there for the entire movement
  • Move your right hand and left foot forward at the same time
  • Then move your left hand and right foot forward
  • Continue this cross-pattern walking motion for the desired distance or time
  • Keep your hips level and avoid letting them sway or rise
  • Maintain a neutral spine and keep your core braced throughout
  • Breathe steadily and control your pace
