About this exercise

A high-intensity plyometric conditioning drill that combines alternating rope waves with explosive split jumps. Each jump switches the forward leg while the arms continue driving the ropes, challenging leg power, cardiovascular endurance, and core stability simultaneously.

How to Perform

  • Stand in a split stance holding the ends of the battling ropes at hip height
  • Begin creating alternating waves by driving one rope down while the other rises
  • Explosively jump and switch your front and back legs mid-air, landing softly in the opposite split stance
  • Keep your core braced and torso upright throughout the movement
  • Maintain continuous rope waves without pausing between jumps
  • Continue for the prescribed time or number of repetitions
