About this exercise

A high-intensity full-body conditioning exercise combining alternating battling rope waves with explosive jump squats. The combination simultaneously challenges the lower body with powerful squat jumps and the upper body and core with alternating rope undulations.

How to Perform

  • Stand at the anchor point of the battling ropes with feet shoulder-width apart, holding one rope end in each hand
  • Lower into a squat position with ropes held at hip height
  • Explosively jump upward while simultaneously driving both ropes up and down in alternating arm waves
  • Land softly by absorbing the impact through your hips and knees, immediately transitioning into the next squat
  • Keep your core tight and back straight throughout both the rope movement and the squat
  • Alternate which arm leads the wave with each repetition or set
  • Continue for the target reps or duration, maintaining rope tension the entire time
