About this exercise

A standing overhead press performed with a barbell gripped narrower than shoulder width. The close grip shifts extra emphasis onto the triceps and inner shoulder head while the anterior deltoids remain the prime mover, building solid pressing strength and shoulder mass.

How to Perform

  • Grip the bar with hands closer than shoulder width, palms facing forward
  • Brace your core, squeeze your glutes, and keep your torso upright
