About this exercise

The barbell reverse wrist curl trains the forearm extensor muscles through wrist extension against load while seated. Forearms are braced on the thighs with the wrists extending just past the knees, providing a stable base for the movement.

How to Perform

  • Sit on a bench and hold a barbell with a shoulder-width overhand grip, palms facing down
  • Rest your forearms on your thighs so your wrists hang just past your knees
  • Allow your wrists to flex downward, lowering the bar toward the floor
  • Extend your wrists upward as high as comfortable
  • Slowly lower back to the starting position with control
