About this exercise

A standing calf raise variation where a resistance band is looped under both feet and held at shoulder level to add resistance. Version 2 uses the band anchored under both feet simultaneously, making it a bilateral movement suitable for home training without machines.

How to Perform

  • Stand with both feet on the middle of a resistance band, feet hip-width apart
  • Hold the ends of the band at shoulder height or loop them over your shoulders
  • Stand tall with a slight bend in the knees and your core braced
  • Rise up onto the balls of both feet as high as possible, pressing against the band's resistance
  • Hold the top position briefly, squeezing the calves
  • Lower your heels back toward the floor in a controlled manner
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
