About this exercise

The Band Standing Single Arm Biceps Curl uses a resistance band anchored underfoot to isolate the biceps one arm at a time. The constant tension provided by the band throughout the full range of motion makes this an effective exercise for building bicep strength and muscle endurance.

How to Perform

  • Stand on one end of a resistance band with your right foot, holding the other end in your right hand
  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart, core engaged, and arm extended toward the floor with a slight bend in the elbow
  • Keeping your upper arm stationary at your side, curl your right hand up toward your shoulder
  • Squeeze the bicep at the top of the movement
  • Slowly lower your hand back to the starting position with control
  • Complete all reps on the right arm, then switch to the left
  • Avoid swinging the torso — keep the movement isolated to the elbow joint
