About this exercise

A standing resistance band chest press performed one arm at a time in an alternating pattern. Anchoring the band behind you and pressing forward trains the chest, front deltoids, and triceps while demanding core stability and anti-rotation control.

How to Perform

  • Anchor the resistance band at chest height behind you
  • Stand facing away from the anchor, staggered stance for balance, holding one handle in each hand at chest level
  • Brace your core and keep your torso upright throughout the movement
  • Press one arm fully forward until the elbow is nearly straight, squeezing the chest at the end
  • Slowly return that arm to the starting position
  • Press the opposite arm forward in the same manner
  • Continue alternating arms for the desired number of repetitions
