About this exercise

A unilateral overhead pressing movement using a resistance band that develops shoulder strength and stability while challenging core balance. Pressing with one arm at a time isolates each shoulder independently and helps correct strength imbalances.

How to Perform

  • Stand with both feet on the center of the resistance band, shoulder-width apart
  • Grip one end of the band in one hand at shoulder height, palm facing forward
  • Brace your core and keep your torso upright
  • Press the band straight overhead until your arm is fully extended
  • Pause briefly at the top
  • Lower the band back to shoulder height in a controlled manner
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching arms
