About this exercise

An isolation exercise for the wrist extensors and the outer forearm, performed with a resistance band using a pronated (overhand) grip. It is the opposite motion to a standard wrist curl and helps balance forearm development while reducing the risk of elbow injuries such as tennis elbow.

How to Perform

  • Sit on a bench or chair and place your forearms on your thighs, palms facing down
  • Loop or hold the resistance band under your feet and grasp the other end with both hands using an overhand grip
  • Allow your wrists to drop toward the floor as far as comfortable
  • Curl your wrists upward by extending them as high as possible
  • Squeeze the forearm extensors at the top of the movement
  • Slowly lower your wrists back to the starting position
