Step by step instructions, muscle activation and variants for the Band Prone Incline Curl.

EasyBiceps

About this exercise

The band prone incline curl is a biceps exercise performed lying face-down on an incline bench with a resistance band. The prone position keeps the upper arms fixed and hanging vertically, eliminating momentum and placing constant tension on the biceps throughout the curl.

How to Perform

  • Set an adjustable bench to a low-to-moderate incline and anchor a resistance band beneath it or to a low anchor point in front of the bench
  • Lie face-down on the bench with your chest against the pad and arms hanging straight down
  • Hold the band in both hands with a supinated (underhand) grip
  • Curl both hands upward toward your shoulders by flexing the elbows
  • Keep your upper arms still and perpendicular to the floor
  • Squeeze the biceps at the top, then slowly lower to the starting position
  • Complete all reps without swinging the torso
