About this exercise

A unilateral seated row with a resistance band that adds a trunk rotation at the end of the pull, engaging the lats, rear deltoid, and obliques simultaneously. The rotation helps develop rotational core strength and improves thoracic mobility while building upper-back thickness.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the floor with legs extended and loop the resistance band around your feet or a fixed anchor in front of you
  • Sit tall with your torso upright and hold the band with one hand, arm extended forward
  • Begin the row by retracting your shoulder blade and driving your elbow back
  • As your elbow passes your torso, rotate your upper body toward the pulling side
  • Squeeze the lats and rear deltoid at the end of the movement
  • Slowly reverse the rotation and extend your arm back to the starting position
  • Complete all reps on one side, then switch arms
