About this exercise

An incline chest press performed with a resistance band using a neutral (hammer) grip, where palms face each other throughout the movement. The incline angle shifts emphasis to the upper chest while the neutral grip reduces wrist and shoulder strain.

How to Perform

  • Set an adjustable bench to an incline of approximately 30–45 degrees
  • Anchor the resistance band behind or beneath the bench
  • Sit back on the bench and hold the band handles at chest level with palms facing each other
  • Brace your core and keep your feet flat on the floor
  • Press both handles up and slightly inward until arms are extended
  • Pause briefly at the top, then slowly lower back to the starting position
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
