About this exercise

A biceps curl performed with the upper arm held horizontal and parallel to the floor, using a resistance band. This position places the biceps under peak tension at mid-range and alters the strength curve compared to a standard curl, providing a unique stimulus for biceps development.

How to Perform

  • Stand and hold the resistance band with both hands, stepping on the center of the band to anchor it underfoot
  • Raise your upper arms to shoulder height so they are horizontal and parallel to the floor, elbows bent at roughly 90 degrees
  • Keep your upper arms stationary and elevated throughout the movement
  • Curl your forearms upward, bringing your hands toward your shoulders
  • Squeeze your biceps at the top of the curl
  • Slowly lower your forearms back to the 90-degree starting position
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
