About this exercise

The band front and lateral raise is a shoulder exercise that combines a forward raise with a lateral raise in a single arc, simultaneously targeting the anterior and lateral deltoids. Using a resistance band provides smooth, progressive tension throughout the full range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Stand on the center of the resistance band with feet shoulder-width apart, holding one end in each hand
  • Start with arms at your sides, palms facing inward
  • Raise both arms forward and slightly outward in a wide arc until they reach shoulder height
  • Keep a slight bend in your elbows and avoid shrugging your shoulders
  • Hold briefly at the top, feeling the contraction in your front and side deltoids
  • Lower your arms slowly back to your sides under control
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps
