About this exercise

A unilateral resistance band biceps curl in which the working arm crosses the midline of the body as it curls. This cross-body angle shifts tension onto the inner (short) head of the biceps and adds a rotational challenge to the forearm.

How to Perform

  • Anchor the resistance band under the opposite foot or to a low point on the same side
  • Hold the band in one hand with a supinated grip, arm extended down
  • Stand slightly sideways so the band runs diagonally across your body
  • Curl your hand upward and across your chest toward the opposite shoulder
  • Squeeze your biceps firmly at the top of the curl
  • Lower your arm back to the starting position in a controlled manner
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching
