This variation effectively targets the anterior and lateral deltoids while requiring no equipment beyond the band itself.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart
  • Place a resistance band behind your neck and grip both ends with an overhand grip, hands at shoulder level
  • Keep your elbows slightly in front of the body and your core braced
  • Press both hands upward until your arms are fully extended overhead
  • Pause briefly at the top with arms extended
  • Slowly lower your hands back to shoulder level under control
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
