About this exercise

The band alternating biceps curl uses a resistance band to target the biceps by curling one arm at a time in an alternating pattern. The band provides accommodating resistance that increases as the arm reaches the top of the curl, maximizing biceps tension throughout the range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Stand on the center of the resistance band, feet hip-width apart, holding one end in each hand
  • Let your arms hang at your sides with palms facing forward
  • Curl one hand up toward your shoulder, keeping your elbow close to your side
  • Squeeze your biceps at the top, then slowly lower the arm back to the starting position
  • Immediately curl the opposite arm up in the same controlled manner
  • Continue alternating arms for the full set
