About this exercise

A resistance band chest fly performed from a low anchor point, alternating arms to work each side of the chest independently. The upward arc of motion emphasizes the lower and middle chest while the alternating rhythm challenges stability and coordination.

How to Perform

  • Anchor the resistance band low to the ground or a low attachment point
  • Stand facing away from the anchor, feet shoulder-width apart, holding one end of the band in each hand
  • Begin with arms low at your sides, elbows slightly bent, palms facing inward
  • Raise one arm in a wide arc upward and across your chest, squeezing the pectoral at the top
  • Slowly lower that arm back to the starting position
  • Repeat with the opposite arm in an alternating fashion
  • Keep your core braced and avoid rotating your torso throughout the movement
