About this exercise

A proprioception and balance drill performed by standing on an unstable balance plate, challenging the stabilising muscles of the ankles, legs, and core. It improves postural control, joint awareness, and lower-limb stability.

How to Perform

  • Place the balance plate on a flat, non-slip surface
  • Step onto the centre of the balance plate with both feet hip-width apart
  • Stand tall with a slight bend in your knees and a neutral spine
  • Fix your gaze on a point directly in front of you for postural reference
  • Engage your core and ankles to control the tilt of the plate
  • Hold the position for the desired duration, breathing steadily
  • Step off carefully when done
