About this exercise

The Back Leg Lift Jack is a plyometric bodyweight exercise that combines a jumping jack motion with a posterior leg lift. Instead of spreading both legs to the side, you kick one or both legs backward and upward, activating the glutes and hamstrings while keeping the heart rate elevated.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet together and arms at your sides
  • Jump and simultaneously kick both feet back and out, lifting your heels toward your glutes
  • Squeeze your glutes at the top of the kick
  • Land softly on the balls of your feet with slightly bent knees
  • Return to the starting position and immediately repeat the motion
