About this exercise

The assisted side-lying adductors stretch is a passive flexibility exercise targeting the inner thigh muscles. A partner gently lifts the top leg upward and away from the body, progressively deepening the adductor stretch while you remain in a comfortable side-lying position.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your side on a mat with your legs stacked and your body in a straight line
  • Rest your head on your lower arm for support
  • Bend your bottom leg slightly for stability
  • Your partner holds your top ankle and slowly lifts it upward toward the ceiling, keeping your leg straight
  • Hold the stretched position, breathing steadily and relaxing into the stretch
  • Signal your partner if the stretch intensity needs to be adjusted
