About this exercise

A prone bodyweight exercise that combines the classic superman hold with a sweeping arc of the arms from overhead to the sides and back. It challenges the entire posterior chain — glutes, lower back, and rear delts — through a wide, dynamic range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Lie face down on the floor with arms extended overhead and legs straight
  • Simultaneously lift your arms, chest, and legs off the floor into a superman hold
  • While maintaining the lift, sweep your arms in a wide arc from overhead down to your sides
  • Reverse the arc, sweeping your arms back overhead while keeping your chest and legs elevated
  • Lower back to the starting position with control and repeat
