About this exercise

An advanced hanging core exercise where you grasp a pull-up bar and swing both straight legs upward in a wide arc, then use the momentum to shift the grip forward in a slinging motion. The movement demands high levels of abdominal strength, hip flexor power, and grip endurance.

How to Perform

  • Hang from a pull-up bar with an overhand grip, arms fully extended and legs together
  • Engage your core and keep your legs straight throughout the movement
  • Drive both legs upward and forward in a powerful arc, using your hips and abs to generate momentum
  • As your legs swing up, shift your arms forward to follow through with the slinging motion
  • Control the descent as your legs swing back to the hanging position
  • Avoid using excessive spinal flexion — lead the movement with your hips and lower abs
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
