About this exercise

A plyometric bodyweight exercise that combines jumping jack-style lateral leg movements with alternating hamstring curls, elevating the heart rate while training hamstring strength and coordination. It is commonly used in cardio circuits and athletic warm-ups.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright with feet together and arms at your sides
  • Jump your feet out wide as you would in a jumping jack
  • As you land, shift your weight to one leg and curl the opposite heel up toward your glute
  • Lower that foot and jump feet back together
  • Repeat on the opposite side, alternating with each jump
  • Keep a slight bend in the standing knee on each curl
  • Maintain an upright torso and stay light on your feet throughout
