About this exercise

A bodyweight core exercise performed lying flat on the floor in which each leg is raised and lowered alternately while the lower back stays pressed into the ground. It targets the lower abdominals and hip flexors with continuous time-under-tension.

How to Perform

  • Lie flat on your back with both legs straight and arms resting beside your hips or tucked lightly under your lower back
  • Press your lower back firmly into the floor and brace your core
  • Raise one leg to approximately 60–90 degrees while keeping the other leg hovering just above the floor
  • Lower the raised leg back toward the floor and simultaneously lift the opposite leg
  • Alternate in a controlled, smooth rhythm without letting either foot fully rest on the floor
  • Continue for the prescribed number of reps or until the set is complete
