About this exercise

A lying abdominal exercise where you alternately raise each leg while keeping your head and shoulders lifted off the floor. The constant head-up position increases tension on the upper abs while alternating leg raises challenge the lower abs.

How to Perform

  • Lie flat on your back with legs extended and arms alongside your body
  • Lift your head and shoulders slightly off the floor and hold that position throughout the set
  • Keeping one leg flat on the ground, raise the other leg to approximately 45 degrees
  • Lower it back down in a controlled manner while simultaneously raising the opposite leg
  • Continue alternating legs in a smooth, scissor-like motion
  • Keep your lower back pressed toward the floor throughout the movement
