About this exercise

The Alternate Knee Raise Side Reach is a standing bodyweight exercise that combines alternating single-leg knee raises with a lateral side reach, engaging the obliques, hip flexors, and core while improving balance and coordination.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and arms extended overhead
  • Raise your right knee toward your waist while simultaneously reaching your arms down and to the right side
  • Return to the standing position with arms overhead
  • Raise your left knee and reach your arms down to the left side
  • Keep your core tight and your standing leg slightly soft at the knee
  • Alternate sides in a controlled, fluid motion
