The Alternate Heel Touch Side Kick Squat is a dynamic bodyweight combination exercise that chains a squat, a lateral kick, and a heel touch into one fluid sequence. It trains the legs and glutes while also engaging the core and improving balance and coordination, alternating sides with each rep.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and hands lightly behind your head or at your sides
  • Lower into a squat, keeping your chest up and knees tracking over your toes
  • As you rise from the squat, shift your weight and kick one leg out to the side
  • Touch the heel of the kicking foot with the opposite hand as you reach across
  • Return to the standing position and immediately lower into the next squat
  • Repeat the kick and heel touch on the opposite side
  • Continue alternating sides for the desired number of reps
