About this exercise

A plyometric footwork drill inspired by the hopscotch pattern that trains agility, coordination, and lower-body power by alternating single-foot and double-foot landings across a grid. It raises heart rate quickly while improving reactive strength and balance.

How to Perform

  • Mark or visualize a hopscotch grid on the floor in front of you
  • Begin with both feet together at the start of the grid
  • Hop forward onto one foot into the first single square, landing softly on the ball of the foot
  • Hop to the double square with both feet landing simultaneously, hip-width apart
  • Continue hopping forward through the grid, alternating between single-foot and double-foot landings
  • Keep knees slightly bent at every landing to absorb impact
  • At the end of the grid, turn around and repeat the pattern back to the start
  • Maintain an upright posture and use your arms for balance and momentum
